As tradition has it the 8th of March is an international celebration of all things female, dating back since the first official celebration a century ago, International Women’s Day has come to be part of the annual calendar and we felt it fitting with so much of the music played at the Fantastic Volume 2 events having a female friendly focus to take it one step beyond and dedicate this one wholly to the ladies, with an entire night of music made by, contributed to or in some cases just inspired by the female of the species!
On the night expect a roll call of talent including Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Foxy Brown, Kelis, Tawiah, Amerie, Cassie, Brandy, Monica, Teedra Moses, J Davey, Neneh Cherry, Mae Day, Lisa Lopes, Georgia Anne Muldrow, Sunshine Anderson, Jean Grae, Mary J, Aaliyah, Eve, Janet Jackson, Jazmine Sullivan, Ashanti, Angie Stone as well as a few legends of the original soul scene!!
